What types of treatments do you offer?
My practice is centered on the art of Acupressure Massage, a therapeutic technique that uses targeted pressure to release tension, alleviate pain, and restore your body’s natural flow of energy.
To complement your session and address your specific needs, I also offer a suite of traditional therapies, including:
- Acupuncture: The gentle insertion of sterile, hair-thin needles to powerfully reset the nervous system, release pain-relieving endorphins, and address the root cause of both physical and emotional imbalances.
- Cupping: To enhance circulation and release deep-seated muscle restrictions.
- Gua Sha: To stimulate blood flow, reduce inflammation, and promote metabolic cell repair.
- Moxibustion: To apply gentle, penetrating warmth to soothe and invigorate specific areas.
Each session is a fully customized experience, thoughtfully designed to meet your personal wellness goals, whether you seek relief from pain, a respite from stress, or a profound sense of rejuvenation.
Do you use aromatherapy or essential oils in your sessions?
Yes, we do. We believe that true healing engages all the senses, and we are delighted to include a complimentary aromatherapy experience in every session to enhance your journey to wellness.
This is more than just a pleasant scent; it is a therapeutic tool. A carefully selected blend of pure essential oils is diffused into the air to create a tranquil sanctuary and is also mixed into our massage oils. This allows the oils' benefits to work in synergy with the acupressure, deepening your relaxation and supporting your body's natural flow.
We use a curated collection of high-grade oils, and the blend for your session is chosen based on your specific wellness goals. If you have any known sensitivities or allergies to scents, please let us know during your consultation. Your comfort and safety are always our first priority.
How does the in-home mobile service work?
Imagine a professional, spa-like experience without ever leaving your home. My mobile service is designed for your ultimate comfort and convenience.

- I Arrive: I come to your home, office, or preferred location with all the necessary professional equipment, including a comfortable treatment table, fresh linens, and sterile tools.
- We Consult: We begin with a brief, confidential consultation to discuss your health concerns and wellness goals for the session.
- I Create a Sanctuary: I transform a small area of your space into a tranquil treatment room.
- You Relax: You receive your personalized therapy, allowing you to drift into a state of deep relaxation in a familiar, private, and safe environment. There's no traffic to face, no travel time to worry about—just pure, uninterrupted healing.
What is the difference between acupressure and acupuncture?
Both are powerful healing arts that stem from the same ancient wisdom, utilizing specific points on the body to promote balance and health. The key difference lies in the method.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of ultra-fine needles. Acupressure, my specialty, is a needle-free therapy. I use skillful and sensitive pressure from my hands, thumbs, and elbows to activate these same points, offering a gentle yet profound way to achieve similar therapeutic results.
Is acupressure different from a regular massage?
Yes, they have different intentions. Think of it like this: a conventional massage is wonderful for general relaxation and loosening broad muscle groups, much like a full-body stretch.
Acupressure is more like targeted physical therapy for your body's energy system. While deeply relaxing, its primary focus is on specific acupoints that correspond to the body's meridians (energy pathways). By stimulating these points, we work to address the root cause of discomfort, restore balance, and unlock your body’s innate ability to heal itself.
Could you explain cupping, gua sha, and moxibustion in more detail?
Absolutely. These ancient techniques are wonderful complements to acupressure.
- Cupping: This therapy uses glass or silicone cups to create gentle suction on the skin. This action helps to draw stagnant fluid and toxins to the surface, increase blood flow to stiff muscles, and release fascia. Many describe the sensation as a "reverse deep-tissue massage."
- Gua Sha: Using a smooth-edged tool, I gently glide or "scrape" the skin over a lubricated area. This motion stimulates microcirculation in the soft tissue, which helps reduce inflammation and encourages blood flow. It can leave temporary, painless red marks (petechiae), which are a healthy sign that circulation is being restored in a stagnant area.
- Moxibustion: This is a deeply warming and soothing heat therapy. It involves smoldering a small amount of a dried herb called moxa (mugwort) and holding it near the surface of the skin. The gentle, radiant heat penetrates deep into the tissues to warm the meridians, stimulate energy flow, and promote circulation.
Is the treatment painful? What should I expect to feel?
This is an important question, as the sensations differ between therapies. My guiding principle is that while treatment can be intense, it should always feel productive and stay within your comfort level. You are always in control.
For Acupressure Massage:
When we work to release deeply held tension and break up adhesions in muscles and connective tissue (fascia), you will likely feel significant, focused pressure. Many describe this as a "good pain"—a therapeutic intensity that your body intuitively recognizes as necessary for release.
Think of it like stretching a very tight muscle. The sensation confirms we are targeting the right spot. I will communicate with you throughout the session, and we will work together to find the ideal pressure that is both effective and manageable for you. The goal is to release the "knot" or restriction, which is often followed by a wonderful sense of lightness, relief, and increased mobility.
For Acupuncture:
The experience of acupuncture is quite different and is not considered painful by the vast majority of patients.
The needles I use are sterile, single-use, and hair-thin—nothing like a hypodermic needle. While you might feel a tiny, fleeting pinch upon insertion, many people feel nothing at all.
Once the needle is in place, we look for a unique therapeutic sensation known as De Qi ("the arrival of energy"). This is the reassuring sign that your body is responding to the treatment. De Qi is not pain, but rather a distinct set of feelings, which can include:
- A dull, therapeutic ache or a feeling of pressure.
- A sense of warmth or heaviness spreading through the area.
- A gentle tingling or a mild electrical-static sensation.
These sensations are a positive sign that we have stimulated the flow of qi and blood, waking up your body’s innate ability to heal. It’s a tangible reminder that your body is intelligent and actively participating in its own recovery.
What can I expect during my first session?
Your comfort and ease are my top priorities. Here’s a little journey of what your session will look like:
- The Welcome: We’ll start with a friendly chat about your health history and what you’d like to achieve.
- The Setup: While you get comfortable, I’ll quickly and quietly set up my portable table and prepare for your treatment.
- The Experience: During the treatment, you may feel a range of sensations, from the firm, targeted pressure of acupressure to the gentle warmth of moxibustion or the gliding of a gua sha tool. Most clients find the entire experience deeply relaxing and centering.
- The Atmosphere: To create a truly immersive sanctuary, your session is enhanced with a bespoke aromatherapy blend, filling the air with a calming, therapeutic scent. This is your time. You are welcome to chat, ask questions, or simply close your eyes and enjoy the tranquility in silence.
How much time should I set aside for an appointment?
Typical hands-on treatment time is between 60 and 90 minutes. For your first visit, I recommend booking a 90-minute session to allow ample time for a thorough initial consultation.
Please plan for your total appointment to be about 30 minutes longer than the treatment time itself. This ensures we have a relaxed window for consultation, setup, and breakdown, so your hands-on time is never rushed.
What is the best thing to wear?
Comfort is key. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing like shorts and a t-shirt. For some treatments, we may need access to certain areas like your back, neck, or limbs. You will be professionally draped with linens at all times, and your privacy and comfort are of the utmost importance.
Is a mobile treatment as effective as one in a clinic?
Absolutely. In fact, many clients find it to be more effective. You receive the exact same high standard of professional care and technique as you would in a clinic. The crucial difference is the environment. By being in your own home, your body is already in a more relaxed state, free from the stress of traffic and travel. After the session, you can continue to rest and integrate the benefits of the treatment, rather than immediately having to navigate the outside world.
